We are committed to partnering alongside our Indonesian Friends to facilitate in establishing a Friends culture and assisting with leadership development among a network of thriving Friends Churches.
Our mission in Indonesia began differently from our other missions; it was our first attempt at establishing a new field without resident missionaries. In the late-1980s we employed a strategy of sponsoring Bible school students to plant churches. Rapid growth occurred according to great reports. However, over a period of fifteen years we observed a steady shift in the vision and understanding of the national leadership. It became apparent that our strategy was unsustainable.
Today, we are committed to two major interactions per year, establishing Friends culture and assisting with leadership development. We have also committed to a weeklong trip by an EFCSW representative for their annual Yearly Meeting Sessions.
It is our desire to continue to broaden relationships between Indonesian Friends and other Friends entities.
